Plan of SalvationWelcome to the Body of Christ
The plan of salvation that God has given us is a simple process that He has outlined in His Word. Acceptance that Jesus Christ died for your sins is as simple as believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that you accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior.
Once you have accepted Jesus Christ into your life, you have become a child of God and you need to get to know your heavenly Father. God knows all about you, but you need to know Him in an intimate and personal way. One way to do this is through prayer. Prayer is just talking with God. Start with 5 or 10 minutes each day. Make prayer a part of your life; for example, ask God to bless your food.
Another thing you must do to get to know God is to have daily Bible study and meditations. Set aside a specific time each day to read your Bible. Start with the New Testament; read as much as you are personally able to grasp. For some it may be one verse; or it may be one chapter, depending on the person.
I. I am a creation of God.
Origin of Man
In the beginning God created the heavens and earth, and all things in the heavens and the earth. Then God made man.
Genesis 1:1, 27-28
Separation of Man from God
God gave man dominion over everything He created in the earth. Then God gave man one specific instruction. Man disobeyed God, thereby allowing sin to enter the world. As a result, man was cut off from God.
Genesis 2:15, 3:1-6
II. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.
Son of God, Born to Man to Save the World
God has a plan that will reconcile man to Himself, His Son, Jesus Christ.
There Is Only One Way
Acceptance of Christ is the only way to be reconciled to God.
Everyone will Acknowledge Jesus Christ
God placed Jesus above everything and everyone. All will have to acknowledge Jesus as Lord!
III. I am really born again.
I Have Repented and Turned Away from Sin
Repentance is an integral part of the salvation experience. It is being sincerely sorrowful for your sinfulness, having a changed mind and deciding to be no longer a part of this world, but to walk in righteousness with Christ Jesus.
II Corinthians 7:10
II Corinthians 5:17
I Have Openly Confessed Jesus Christ
With your mouth and from your heart, openly confess before men Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.
I Am Saved Regardless of How I Feel
Cast out all doubts about your salvation. God says in His Word that salvation is a gift to all who accept Jesus Christ. God’s Word is truth.
IV. I will stay in line with God’s Word.
Communicate with God in Prayer
Prayer is your privilege as a believer. It is a private relationship between you and God through verbal communication. Prayer is sincere conversation with God.
I Thessalonians 5:17
Always Give God Thanks and Praise
God inhabits the praises of His people. Give God thanks and praise for who He is and what He has done.
Psalms 22:3, 34:1-10, 63:3-5, 150:1-6
Study God’s Word, Know it is True
God has unveiled Himself to us through His Word. Trust His Word and allow it to guide you into righteousness.
II Timothy 2:15, 3:15-17
Water Baptism is an outward sign of an inward new birth.
Confess Your Sins to God Immediately
Make a humble confession of your sins to God. He is faithful and just to forgive you.
I John 1:9
V. I will always put God first.
Give God First Place
Make God first in your life and you will lack nothing.
Give to God in Service, Tithes and Offerings
God gave Jesus because He loves us. We give to the Kingdom of God because we love Him.
Matthew 5:16, 6:20-21
VI. I will remember these things.
Walk in Love
Love never fails. We are commanded to love one another.
I John 4:7-21
I Corinthians 13
Walk in Forgiveness
Love and forgiveness are synonymous. We cannot love without forgiveness; we cannot forgive without loving. When we forgive others, God in turn forgives us.
Know You have the Victory
Jesus has given us the victory.
I John 4:4, 5:4-5
I Corinthians 15:54-58
Your Body is the Temple of God
Christ dwells within you.
II Corinthians 6:14-18
Tell the World about Jesus
Help others to a fulfilling and eternal life. Share Jesus with them.
