Advent & Thanksgiving Service

Advent is the period of four Sundays and weeks before Christmas . Advent means ‘Coming’ in Latin. This is the coming of Jesus into the world. We use the four Sundays and weeks of Advent to prepare and remember the real meaning of Christmas. Advent reminds us of the sacred meaning of Christmas. Despite the secular preparations taking place, eg buying gifts and going to parties, Advent reminds us as Christians to remember and prepare for the birth of Jesus.
